While no serious historian would pretend Canada is the birthplace of the chocolate bar or the cradle of candy treats, we had a sweet thing going for most of the 20th century. Lowney's, Willa'rds, Neilson, Moirs, and others made delicious confections from home bases in Montréal, Toronto, Halifax, and elsewhere. Here is a collection of thirty such confections, captioned them with vital information, and deployed them in deluxe print form. Why do I say “we”? Because all pics and writing were provided by Brian Sheppard and his physical archive of historic Canadian sweets packaging.
