The iconic Rider Waite Smith deck was illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith on the instructions of academic and mystic A E Waite in 1909. It has since become one of most popular tarot decks of all time, celebrated for its bold and romantic designs which are rich in symbolism and hidden meanings.
